Life is like a proposal...you never know what to expect.

Life surprises you in the most interesting ways. Whether it is good or bad, life is utterly and completely unexpected. I have come to realize that you never know what is going to happen tomorrow. With that being sad, a good friend once told me that you should never worry about tomorrow because tomorrow is going to worry about itself.  And tomorrow will always work itself out.
I have witnessed and heard some of the most amazing proposal stories that were totally unexpected (just like life) that I want to share!

At the best bridal event I ever attended there were the most gorgeous cakes, wedding gowns, entertainment, etc (you can pics in my previous blog on POP the Bridal Event). And if I had been a woman ready to get married at that event, I think the most fairy tale thing that could have happened to me would have been for someone to propose. Well that happened to a very lucky lady. After giving all the raffle prizes, one last winner was called to the stage. However, her prize was a proposal. They slipped an eye-mask over her eyes and she opened to her fiance proposing to her in front of all her friends and family in their hometown community. You wouldn't be able to tell if you were with me, but I was crying.

The next one is a story from a friend of mine. She is a photographer at Disneyland, the happiest place on earth. Imagine her surprise when a man asks her to take pictures of him and his girlfriend, only to see that as your taking the picture, he kneeled on one knee, and asked her to marry him. DISNEYLAND!! Talk about the happiest day at the happiest place!

Lastly, just to make things not so sappy here (!), I have a link to a really cute and funny proposal!  PLEASE watch this!!!

SF wedding venues

Some of my favorite places in San Francisco are wedding venues.

I attended my Senior Ball in High School at the Westin St. Francis on Union Square. Such a gorg venue!! Driving there itself is always an adventure with the Bay Bridge overlooking Alcatraz Island and coming up to The City. As soon as you walk into that Grand Ballroom, you feel like royalty.

The Fairmont in San Francisco is another classy venue that I adore. A good friend of mine has been working at the this Fairmont for a while now and we stayed there last Summer for a girls night. Being able to jump in a cab and go out for a night on the town and then come back to our ridiculously pristine suite made me never want to leave!

Lastly, I remember years ago when a family friend of ours got married on a yacht in San Francisco!! It was probably one of the most fun and carefree weddings we've been to. We spent a lot of time out on the deck just admiring the breathtaking views of San Francisco. The piers out there are so refreshing. The ceremony was on the deck of the yacht where the couple stood on a platform of sand and roses. It was beautiful! Then we partied all night until we were forced to go home!

The Butterfly was a restaurant we ate at on the Piers that overlooks the waters and the boats. Now every time we drive by, we say, remember when we went there before Mike and Marie's wedding?!

These are just a couple of my favs, stay tuned, I'll be researching and post more soon!

Spring is officially here. And you should take any reason to smile. I am a very celebratory person who will take the changing of any season as an excuse to do something creative. These are some projects I might be looking into if time permits!!

An oversize eggshell filled with flowers unites two symbols of spring in a single arrangement.

Tart Launch Party

At the very last second (Friday at 11:30pm) I got an offer to assist the production of the Tart Collection launch party in Lafayette on Saturday night. I absolutely agreed considering I love the founders of Tart, Jamie and Dana Finegold and also because I knew how much I would enjoy this experience.

My morning consisted of making 144 mini cupcakes, getting all the decor in the afternoon, setting it up, and then bar tending all night. I had a great time and it was a great experience. Thanks Jamie and Dana!!
I realized just how much I would love to work in the 925. I love my hometown more than anything. And let me tell you, being able to drive home in 5 minutes if we need an extra serving platter, TOTS beats having to drive 30 mins to get 5 miles away in LA.

 Even my parents came!!

I may not be engaged...

But I do love those engagement rings. There is something about the glamorousness and fabulosity of an engagement ring with its big shiny and chunky diamond. For some women it says I'm taken, for others its just says I am fabulous.
I love to incorporate those rings into many things in life because for me they represent my future career and how I am passionately going to do what I want for the rest of my life.
Here are some cute ways to incorporate engagement rings into your life without a man kneeling on one knee.

I can bake too...

So I had a dream last weekend that I was planning an event for a woman and she was having major difficulty with her baker. She wasn't getting along with them and they weren't providing her the cupcakes she had envisioned. So I thought to myself (in my dream), hey , I know what my client is looking for, I could probably make them for her. So I did the cupcakes for the events and she absolutely loved them and I saved the day! The dream seemed so real so I went out, got some cupcake supplies, and my cupcakes came out just they did in my dream!!

Would you hire me to do cupcakes for your event?!

Photo Party!

Imagine you and your boyfriend in a photo booth at your cousin's wedding or you and all your girlfriends at your best friend's wedding. Photo booths are huge right now. They are something for the guests to remember that giggling time by. I personally love them, if you can't tell....
At POP The Bridal Event in Glendale, the LA Photo Party took pictures of us and gave us the option to either print it out right there or email to us.

At a bridal expo at the Pasadena Convention Center, Mobile Photo Lounge  and Cheesy Photo booths let us go crazy taking as many pictures as we wanted to take home!

Runway Revolution

I must say that I had a brilliant idea after attending Cal Poly's fashion show put on by the fashion society. Maybe I could plan fashion shows! Everyone and their mother knows how much I love clothes and what better event to plan than something involving clothes and those who love them as well!!! Of course this is only including all the other lovely events I plan to plan ;)

Savvy Lee, Lunzia, Ashley Taddei, Lola Paige, Jessica Rey, LA Raw Water, and many more, showcased their gorgeous fashions
