June 25th Wedding

Starting last Friday began the festivities of the June 25th, 2011 wedding in which I can truly say was a delight and pleasure to work on. By assisting Ann Saavedra of Dreamcatcher Events we managed to produce an amazing day for the bride and groom and let me tell you the venue, cake, food, décor, etc was to die for.

We had the venue at the lovely Holy Trinity Church in Moraga, a beautiful and spacious area where everything and anything the bride and groom wanted was accounted for.

At Saint Mary's Church the ceremony took place ending in the exit of the couple with Mariachi band which played to the T. Over at the reception which was a convenient 4 minutes away, the Mariachi band continued to play as the guests mingled and enjoyed themselves over the happiness of the newly weds with a cocktail hour of OPEN BAR and ridiculous food by Classic Cater of gourmet poletta, classic cheese and crackers, fruit galore, and an assortment of delectable veggies.

After the cocktail hour the guests trickled in to be seated at their pre-arranged tables. An absolutely heart warming toast was given by the groom’s brother and everyone then picked up their plates for the mouth watering dinner buffet!

First dances, father/daughter, and groom/mother dances then presumed which wowed the crowd considering how adorable these families are. After that, the night was filled with character as the families’ danced away to their favorite songs.

We ended the evening with more dancing and cutting of the cake by Sue Faina, who, to be honest, couldn’t have made that cake any more delicious. It was like heaven in each bite with the fluffy chocolate surrounded by almond icing and butter cream frosting!! Mmmmm.

Once the photos are sent over, I'll be sure to put some up to show off everything!

Now that I am back home I am trying to get all of my ducks in a row and get this business started!! Who knew that hanging out with the fam, going to the gym, and my daytime job would take up so much time leaving me tired at the end of the day!!
However, every day I do something to promote myself whether that be talk to someone about the business, go over the plan, organize my "office" (which is located in the back room of my house), listen to Marley Majcher's (business coach sensation) cds, blog, you name it.

As of right now, like mentioned earlier, I am assisting Ann Saavedra of Dreamcatcher Events this Saturday for a wedding in which her and I have been working very hard on.
Also, I am thinking about all the creative ideas that are going to go into my little friend Kylie's birthday. Kylie is turning 11 on August 28th! So we haven't decided yet but we're been looking at Kara's Party Ideas's blog or order to get ideas! Here is just one the ideas for Kylie's party. I'll post the rest later!!

Candy theme- Everything revolves around candy! May not be good for the teeth but it'll be the ultimate sugar rush.

As I continue my journey in the world of event planning, I realize just how excited I am. I think about it before I fall asleep and right when I wake up. I think about it when I'm at the gym and when I am driving.
I am super excited right now because I am helping Dreamcatcher Events with a wedding this upcoming Saturday.
The GREAT thing about this wedding is that it takes place right down the hill from my house, in an area I am super familiar with, and I am working with an amazing event planner, Ann Saavedra.
I always worked with Ann during my Winter/Spring Break and during the Summer in college but now that I am back home she is just as excited to have me on her team as I am.

I can't wait to see what this amazing wedding is going to have in store for us! I am sure that it will be gorgeous, well done,a fabulous and fun filled evening for the guests, and most of all the most amazing day of the wedding couple's lives.

Congrats grad! (party ideas)

As I am thinking about having a fun get together to celebrate my big accomplishment, I figured it would be great to share some of these great things I have found considering some of these are so simple but make the biggest difference.

These are the coolest ideas for little diploma treats. I would personally use a different tie then those little blue gummy worms but those are still cute!

Want something even more easy? Throw together some candy in the colors of your alma mater.

I love the yogurt parfaits (jello/pudding/whatever they are!) on the right because its super easy to find DIY "congrats" templates like that online.

Just remember as you are planning your party to HAVE FUN, don't stress out, and enjoy what you have accomplished!

Like promised, I would show you how The Party Goddess can make a simple event like a 25th anniversary for a Dr.'s office into a super classy and amazing one! There is a lot that I didn't take pictures of such as the 300 guests, bar tenders, great dj, amazing servers, wonderful kitchen staff, decorated indoor doctor's office, and much more. However, I thought you all would enjoy these amazing details that were produced for this super successful event.
We love balloon sculptures

I learned how to "swag". This means taking pretty linen materials and scrunching it up on top of the simple linens underneath it to give it a fun and glittery look

Pre-party set up pics

While there was a buffet, servers passed around hors d'oeuvres to the 300 guests that attended

I also learned some other cool staging tips to make the tables look perfect

Who would have thought to use veggies as decor??

This was our super fun photo booth, one in which you can write on your picture and get it printed out

We had a bartender as well as self serve drinks throughout the party

I am going into my last day of interning at The Party Goddess tomorrow. SUPER SAD!!!

Today I am going to help The Party Goddess with an event. I am super excited because it is not just any normal dinner party, birthday party, or wedding. This is going to be a 25th Anniversary Dinner for a Doctor's office. I know, a little different, but I know it is going to be great. Hopefully I'll get some pics to post to show how The Party Goddess can turn a simple event like this one into something super creative and different!

I wanted to post some pictures that were taking from the Italian/Spanish/Polish theme event in which I posted pre-party pics of already!

Fun Italian Ganache Treats

Flat Iron food truck!

An Irish polka band

Another creative way to carry out the church theme

Guests obviously enjoying themselves getting food from the "Meet n' Potatoes" food truck

Entertainment for the evening- stilt walkers!

I have learned so much from The Party Goddess but mainly I take away the fact that the sky is the limit. And this event proves that. Whether you are thinking of theme, creative ideas, how to market yourself or your event, entertainment, etc, there are just so many different things you can do with events and I can't wait to explore them all.
